About Lopesan Hotel Group

Lopesan Hotel Group started its activity in 1972 specialising in the construction of public works projects. Over the years it grew into a dynamic and thriving multinational company based in Gran Canaria, with more than 4000 employees. In the constant process of diversification of activities and international expansion, this family- owned group runs businesses in construction, tourism, real estate development, leisure and services.         

        Nowadays, Lopesan Hotel Group is the leading tourism company on the Canary Islands and, with more than 15,000 beds in 20 hotels in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Germany, Austria and Dominican Republic, among the top ten in Spain. Lopesan Hotels & Resorts and IFA Hotels are the chains in charge of managing the different hotel brands of the portfolio: The Lopesan Collection Hotels, Lopesan Hotels & Resorts, Corallium by Lopesan Hotels, Kumara by Lopesan Hotels, Abora by Lopesan Hotels and IFA by Lopesan Hotels.

1972

The company Hijos de Francisco López Sánchez is created, which is currently the parent of the Lopesan Group.

Lopesan Hotels & Resorts is formed.

Lopesan Group buys Hotel Buenaventura and Hotel Catarina from the German company Creativ.

Lopesan acquires a majority stake in the German Group IFA Hotels & Touristik.

Lopesan opens its first purpose-built hotel: the Lopesan Costa Meloneras.

The Lopesan Group buys Hotel Garonda Jandía in Fuerteventura, which is later called Hotel Altamarena.

2004

Lopesan opens its second purpose-built hotel: Hotel Lopesan Villa del Conde.

2009

Lopesan opens its third purpose-built hotel: the Lopesan Baobab Hotel.

By increasing its capital, Lopesan Hotel Group now holds 75 % of the shares in LS Invest AG, compared to the former 51%.

2019

Lopesan Hotel Group opens its fourth self-built hotel: Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino.

2020

Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel's renovation and presentation under the new brand The Lopesan Collection Hotels, as well as the creation of the group's sixth brand, Kumara by Lopesan Hotels.
