The Code of Conduct for the protection of children and teenagers from sexual exploitation in travel and tourism (The Code-ECPAT) is an international initiative promoted by ECPAT International, UNICEF and the World Tourism Organisation to fight all over the world against commercial sexual exploitation of children and teenagers.

All over the world, around 150 million children have been obliged to keep forced sexual relationships or have been victims of other ways of violence or sexual exploitation. For this reason, in 1998 several businessmen and tourism experts decided to join together to create a Code of Conduct to help them fight against this problem. It is thus born a self regulating instrument and social responsibility that reinforces the protection of the youngest against sexual exploitation in travel and tourism.

To date it has been signed by more than 1,030 companies over 42 countries, among them 8 from Spain. LOPESAN Group is now the first tourist group from the Canary Islands to join this initiative.

Lopesan Company keeps on this way, giving Corporate Social Responsibility a relevant role on its usual business practice. Lopesan considers vital the company, as a hotel group of high prestige of the Canary Islands, to be implied in social work with its environment such as social, cultural and national and international sports projects.
