All over the world, around 150 million children have been obliged to keep forced sexual relationships or have been victims of other ways of violence or sexual exploitation. For this reason, in 1998 several businessmen and tourism experts decided to join together to create a Code of Conduct to help them fight against this problem. It is thus born a self regulating instrument and social responsibility that reinforces the protection of the youngest against sexual exploitation in travel and tourism.
To date it has been signed by more than 1,030 companies over 42 countries, among them 8 from Spain. LOPESAN Group is now the first tourist group from the Canary Islands to join this initiative.
