Whether you travel with your own motorcycle or rent one, touring the island on your own will allow you to visit different places in Gran Canaria and admire the landscape from different perspectives. That is why we will indicate which ones are the seven best motorcycle routes through the Canary Islands where you can circulate with greater security.
There are many beaches, towns, and parks in Gran Canaria that you must visit to make the most of your stay. And what better way to do it than by traveling different motorcycle routes along the island. If you like riding, we recommend you the following tours.
If you decide to stay in Maspalomas, you can visit the island’s capital by touring the motorcycle routes. Along the way, you will be able to appreciate the Dunes, pass through Bahía Feliz or take a tour of the town of Agüimes to enjoy its beautiful natural landscapes.
Also, you can visit the Arenales de Tufia and the Bufadero de la Garita. We recommend you making a stop at the Cave House of Canarian Crafts in Ingenio.
When you have arrived in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, after visiting the city, you can return to Maspalomas riding on the coast to contemplate the ocean from your motorcycle and feel the sea breeze on your skin.
Another of the routes in Gran Canaria that you can take on a motorcycle is the one that runs from Maspalomas to the Arguineguín beach. This site offers a great variety of little frequented places and an arid landscape that perfectly simulates the Wild West.
Among the interesting places that are near this beach, we can mention Pasito Blanco and Puerto Rico, which is characterized by its fishing customs and its always sunny beaches to take a break after your motorcycle tour.
In addition to the main route, you will also find several secondary roads and trails that will make your journey an adventure. Ideal for lovers of adrenaline on wheels.
A beautiful place to visit on a motorcycle is the Puerto de las Nieves de Agaete, which is an exceptional place in the Canary Islands, due to the contrast of the white of the houses and the color of the sea. From the south of the island to this western maritime town, you will be able to observe a singular landscape, where the architecture combined with the ocean will make you spend incredible moments that will remain forever in your memories.
From Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, there is a route that connects the city with Aldea Blanca and Santa Lucía, which you can ride on a motorcycle to admire a wide variety of natural landscapes and explore one of the most hidden corners of Canary.
Around the municipality of Telde, you can travel by motorcycle on one of the safest routes in the Canary Islands. In it, you will have the possibility of accessing La Piconera, a mountain pass capable of guaranteeing the enjoyment of high speed and the feeling of living an impressive experience.
Another of the best routes to travel by motorcycle through the Canary Islands is the one that connects the island’s capital with Arucas, which is a municipality characterized by its banana plantations and its historical complex that will allow you to get to know the culture of the region.
If you want to continue with the journey, you can take a route from Arucas to Bañaderos Beach, to rest in one of its natural pools before continuing with the motorcycle circuit in Gran Canaria.
At that point, continue the journey to the Municipality of Santa María de Guía, where you will find an interesting archaeological site, the Cenobio de Valerón. Following that, you can go to the Cueva Pintada de Gáldar to appreciate the Canarian rock art and listen to some interesting legends of the Canary Islands.
Other interesting sites located in the Northwest of the island are the Puerto de Sardina, Agaete, and the Roque Faneque. At the end of this, the motorcycle route through Gran Canaria is located in the municipality of Artenara, which is located in one of the highest points of the island and forms the largest concentration of ancient cave houses.
If you have your own motorcycle, you can take your motorcycle on a boat to Gran Canaria, which will depart from Cádiz or Huelva. In this way, you can make the motorcycle routes through the Canary Islands with more freedom and safety with your own vehicle.
Also, you can find motorcycle rentals in the south of the island. For more information about this, contact us to answer your questions.
