However, today we will focus on its beaches to discover its most hidden treasures: the hidden beaches of Gran Canaria. We will guide you through these lesser-known and more secluded corners of paradise, where serenity and natural beauty are yet to be discovered.

These hidden beaches offer a unique chance to experience the island’s natural beauty in a truly authentic way. They’re perfect for those who love adventure and unspoilt landscapes!

Montaña de Arena Beach

If you’re looking for a hidden beach in Gran Canaria, look no further than Playa Montaña de Arena. While the beach is a bit off the beaten track, it’s well worth the journey for its serene atmosphere and lack of crowds. It’s the perfect place for those seeking tranquillity or who wish to explore nudism in a relaxed environment.

The beach is also pet-friendly and is ideal for those who are happy to walk a short distance from the nearby car park. The beach allows visitors to enjoy outdoor activities, while respecting cleanliness and the natural environment. Although it lacks basic services such as mobile coverage, public toilets and food, its relaxed atmosphere makes up for it.

Aguadulce Beach

Telde’s Playa de Aguadulce is another Gran Canaria treasure, known for its unique golden sand, a rarity in a region where black sand beaches predominate. This little paradise, sheltered by dunes, offers a tranquil escape from the busier beaches. However, its natural beauty is sometimes marred by the presence of excessive wind that often blows debris into its waters and sands. Despite this, the local commitment to cleanliness helps preserve its charm.

The lack of services demonstrates the area’s unspoilt character, making it an ideal location for those who appreciate nature and are seeking the most authentic hidden coves of Gran Canaria. While access is restricted, the views and atmosphere are well worth the effort.

Güi Güi Beach

Playa Güi Güi in Gran Canaria has two unspoilt beaches, Güi Güi Chico and Güi Güi Grande, accessible on foot or by boat. This site, recognised as a special nature reserve, is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including endangered species and birds. Ideal for those seeking peace and privacy, its waters and natural surroundings provide the perfect retreat. For those who enjoy hiking, the views from Aldea de San Nicolás are well worth the effort.

Enjoy hidden and magical beaches in Gran Canaria.

Guayedra Beach (Agaete)

Guayedra beach, located near Agaete, under the Tamadaba Natural Park, offers an impressive scenery of contrast between the dark volcanic stones and the sand of the beach. Although it can be visited all year round, the autumn and winter months make the journey to the beach more bearable. This hidden gem of Gran Canaria also has a unique volcanic landscape and palm trees, as well as a rich protected biodiversity. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the neighbouring island of Tenerife.

Playa de Guayedra, Agaete, a quiet beach in Gran Canaria.

Juncal Beach

Playa del Juncal, also known as Playa del Puertito, is located in the municipality of Agaete, near the border with the municipality of Gáldar. This coastal hideaway has an enclosed cove, protected from the currents and the wind by two imposing cliffs. With ideal conditions for sport diving, the bay offers a tranquil haven in a stunning natural setting, attracting mainly locals who seek a day of relaxation in this rocky landscape.

Pirata Beach

Pirata Beach is a hidden location between flat developments and rock walls. It is a peculiar and enchanting landscape, despite being surrounded by buildings. The beach is accessible between the sand and the rock walls, and provides a pleasant experience that connects you with nature, even though the flats are in sight.

Access to the beach varies depending on the tide: it is easier at low tide, while at high tide it is necessary to use the steps in front of the flats. The south-western part, next to Morro Besudo, is wider, while the rest is closer to the rocks. The beach has no services and is not very crowded, so it is perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet and an uncrowded day at sea.

El Cabrón Beach (Agüimes)

Located in the municipality of Agüimes, just a few minutes from Arinaga, El Cabrón beach is easily accessible by car. The beach is protected by the imposing Montaña de Arinaga, a 200-metre-high volcano that rises close to the coast, and is guarded by El Cabrón cove, between the points of Arinaga and La Monja. This area is a paradise for nature lovers and scuba divers alike, as its waters are home to a surprising variety of marine life. The seabed at El Cabrón is particularly interesting, with a wide variety of marine life, including starfish, oldies, octopus and moray eels, among others. It is an ideal place for snorkelling and diving.

Keep in mind that you won’t find any services such as showers, toilets, restaurants, sunbeds or parasols. This is what makes these beaches paradise.

Veneguera Beach

Veneguera Beach is the last of the hidden beaches in the south of Gran Canaria that we will show you today. Away from the hustle and bustle and surrounded by impressive cliffs, you can reach this corner by following a path that goes down the Barranco de Veneguera ravine. With 800 metres of black sand and crystal-clear waters, this beach is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy total tranquillity.

As well as having a stunning setting, Playa de Veneguera is part of the Nublo Rural Park. Snorkelling and scuba diving enthusiasts can explore its fascinating underwater world, while adventure seekers can enjoy panoramic views from the heights of the ravine.

Veneguera Beach

If you are looking for quiet beaches away from the crowds, you already have a choice.
