Read on to find out more.

Paseo de Gran Canaria

Firgas has several interesting places that you can visit during your stay in this town. One of them is Paseo de Gran Canaria (Gran Canaria Avenue), which will leave no visitor indifferent.

It is a small street lined with 22 benches made of Andalusian tiles. Interestingly, these benches represent the 21 municipalities of the island, each with its own coat of arms. You will see people sitting on them and taking photographs. So don’t rush your arrival, because you’ll have to wait if you want your photo taken.

Enjoy Firgas, a different place full of art.

Paseo de Canarias

The Paseo de Canarias (Canary Islands promenade) is a charming representation of the 7 Canary Islands. Along this picturesque path, you will come across a small slope with mosaic tiles on the ground, each one representing the characteristics of a different island. The surroundings are decorated with cobbled houses, which add to its charm.

Viewpoint at the Plaza de San Roque

If you want to see the best views of Firgas, you have to go to this viewpoint, which offers an incredible panoramic view. It is located in the square of the same name and from here you can see places such as La Isleta, the bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Mount Arucas, part of the northern part of the island, Costa Lairaga (Bañaderos and San Andrés), the village of Moya and the lower part of the village of Firgas.

On a clear day, you might even be able to see the islands of Fuerteventura and Tenerife – quite an experience! Best of all, it’s right in the centre of town and you can find it by walking through the old quarter. Enjoy the views while you rest and continue your day’s sightseeing.

San Roque Church and Square

The Church of San Roque and the Plaza de San Roque are two essential places to visit in Firgas, where you can appreciate the care and history that surround this charming town.

The church of San Roque

Located in the same square, this church is a curious jewel with a fascinating history. Built on the site of an old hermitage from the 16th century, it still preserves traces of its past, such as the original façade, and is divided into three naves with different images. We invite you to take a leisurely stroll around it to appreciate its charm.

San Roque square

This square is the heart of Firgas and has an authentic beauty. In addition to the church and the viewpoint, there is a monument to the first patron saint of the town, San Juan de Ortega. It is a square with a serene and charming atmosphere, where history and beauty are magically intertwined.

House of Culture

This 1870 building is one of the most emblematic and well-preserved in the city. Originally used as accommodation for visitors to the Azuaje Baths (now closed), it is now the town’s cultural centre.

It houses the municipal library, a meeting room and a small exhibition hall. If you want to visit the interior, it is advisable to check the opening hours. However, the beauty of its exterior architecture alone justifies a visit.

Los Charcones

Do you like natural pools? Then you can’t miss this place. Located just 11 kilometres from Firgas, they are the perfect place to take a dip and enjoy the rest of the day.

There are two natural pools in the municipality of Arucas. To find them, all you have to do is walk along the promenade at El Puertillo beach.
