Anfi del Mar belongs to the municipality of Mog\u00e1n, one of the sunniest spots on Gran Canaria<\/strong>. In the early 1990s, a Norwegian entrepreneur envisioned this unique place: an artificial beach that combined the atmosphere of the Caribbean with the tranquillity of the Atlantic. To make it happen, more than 500 tonnes of white sand were imported from the Bahamas, standing out against the intense blue of the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At one end of the complex lies Balito beach, a small cove of gravel and pebbles. It is quieter and far less busy, with no hire facilities or showers, making it a peaceful spot to wander, bask in the sun or sit in silence by the water. About 200 metres long, it preserves a more natural character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Verga beach<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is the best-known and most photographed: a white-sand beach with calm waters, framed by palm trees, sunbeds and parasols. Here you\u2019ll find all the facilities \u2013 toilets, bars, restaurants, equipment hire and easy access to the sea. Just 180 metres long, it is the lively hub of \u201cAnfi beach\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just opposite the main beach lies the Island of Anfi, a small heart-shaped islet reached on foot. Inside are landscaped gardens, pathways for strolling and shaded areas to rest. Tourist boats also depart from here, connecting with Puerto Rico, Arguinegu\u00edn and Mog\u00e1n, some with glass-bottom decks for underwater views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
