Paseo de Gran Canaria
Firgas has several interesting places that you can visit during your stay in this town. One of them is Paseo de Gran Canaria (Gran Canaria Avenue), which will leave no visitor indifferent.
It is a small street lined with 22 benches made of Andalusian tiles. Interestingly, these benches represent the 21 municipalities of the island, each with its own coat of arms. You will see people sitting on them and taking photographs. So don’t rush your arrival, because you’ll have to wait if you want your photo taken.
Paseo de Canarias
The Paseo de Canarias (Canary Islands promenade) is a charming representation of the 7 Canary Islands. This 1870 building is one of the most emblematic and well-preserved in the city. Originally used as accommodation for visitors to the Azuaje Baths (now closed), it is now the town’s cultural centre.
It houses the municipal library, a meeting room and a small exhibition hall. If you want to visit the interior, it is advisable to check the opening hours. However, the beauty of its exterior architecture alone justifies a visit.
Los Charcones
Do you like natural pools? Then you can’t miss this place. Located just 11 kilometres from Firgas, they are the perfect place to take a dip and enjoy the rest of the day.
There are two natural pools in the municipality of Arucas. To find them, all you have to do is walk along the promenade at El Puertillo beach. What’s more, these pools are suitable for both adults and children, as one of them is very shallow.
Walk through the Barranco de Azuaje
If you like adventure, one of the things you can do in Firgas is to walk this route, which starts and ends in the San Roque square (so you don’t need a car).
