This structure was built to protect the island’s inhabitants from the constant attacks of pirates at the time, becoming the first fortification on the coast of Fuerteventura.
San Buenaventura Castle is a historic building dating back to the 18th century and has been designated an Asset of Cultural Interest for several years. When visiting the marina area, be sure to see this fortification.
